circa 1900, 27in. nitro replacement barrels (in 1964), the rib engraved 'NEW BARRELS. BY B.E. CHAPLIN. WINCHESTER.', and with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-grip action with conical fences and removable striker discs, slender toplever, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, border, acanthus scroll and floral bouquet engraving, bright finish with reblued pins, 15in. figured stock including 1 1/8in. wooden extension, weight 5lb. 14oz.
